I've been away so long...sorry! Lots has happened..but I'll stick to the music news for now:

I saw Kylie live doing her "Showgirl" thing...it was an absolute blast and an amazing show with a lot of costume changes, live singing, an awful version of "somewhere over the rainbow", gorgeous new mixes of old & recent hits and might sexy dancers as you can see here http://www.gaydayz.be/uitgaan/event/kylie/index.htm

I also saw Feist who was amazing. As I suspected she keeps her voice pretty restrained on the album but when she lets it rip live it is jawdropping. It was a bit disappointing that she didn't do many songs of her "let it die" album. As I don't know her first album I don't know if the other songs were those or covers or completely new. Ironically, the song she rocked out the most on was the traditional "when I was young girl" which she totally transformed. Also very impressive was the fact she records and mixes her own backing vocals live on stage before some of her songs!

I also saw Stereo Total...an utterly cool german electroclash band who sing mostly covers of French chansons with an electro musical makeover. if you like kitchy, fun pop..check them out!

Last month then I saw the amazing Martha Wainwright live. I don't know what to say other than she will be (should be) huge. She has a great on stage personality, tells lots of jokes, is cute and has (I'm getting repetitive I know) a very impressive voice. She performed with her producer brad Albetta on bass and they have quite a chemistry :-) Sadly she didn't bring her new album along so I'll still have to order it. Her songs are melancholic, often depressive songs from the heart but she also has a song about her car for example :-). A Girl Called Eddy was also at the same gig and she wasn't very impressive live I'm afraid. The performance was a bit bland and you could've just put on the album instead."

A few weeks ago I went to see Antony & the Jonsons...much raved about recently and the concert was very enjoyable. All of his songs are quite melancholic torch songs with a twist (lyrically that is). Antony is a New York transvestite BTW who plays the piano in a slightly cabaret kind of way and he was joined on stage by a cellist, 2 violin players and a guitar player. "Hope there's somoene" is a beautiful song. It was a bit much though standing straight for 2 hours for such a concert, should've been seated!

Sadly the M. Ward & Maximilian Hecker concert I was supposed to go to on was canceled because of the BBC strike! Because of the strike they had to reschedule recording some performances for the BBC and I missed out!

I am high on anticipation because tomorrow is TORI AMOS day in Brussels :-) Yeah

To finish of: some songs I'm digging at the moment:

Imogen Heap Goodnight and Go Björk Who is it? (Vitalic 2005 remix) Annie Heartbeat Martha Wainwright When the Day is Short The Bravery An Honest Misstake Kaiser Chiefs Every Day I Love You Less and Less Aimee Mann Little Bombs M. Ward Hi-Fi The Organ Steven Smith Slut Neverending Stereo Total Liebe Zu Dritt Tori Amos Like A Prayer Fiona Apple Not About Love Laetitia Shériff Music Box Beck Girl Handsome Boy Modeling School The Truth Rufus Wainwright The One You Love Au Revoir Borealis Say Agatha Antony & The Johnsons Hope There`s someone Interpol Not Even Jail Katell Keineg Te Recuerdo Victor Jara Holly Palmer Did your Momma?

I went to "Bloc Party" in Brussels last night. Apparently it was their first concert outside the UK and they were really pumped. They simply rocked and they quite clearly enjoy themselves immensely on stage, it really sets off a spark with the audience. Allthough I saw pictures of the band before I never thought the lead singer sounded black (does that sound racist? sorry)...he just sounds so "English". Apart from being hyper kinetic they are also incredibly young and the lead singer plays the guitar in a very sexy way The room they played in was way too small (Botanique) and sold out and people were really pushed against each other but thet managed to get the party going. They're actually very romantic guys :-) with all the talk between songs being mostly about love. Highlights of the evening were "Banquet" of course, "This Modern Love" and "She's hearing voices". Their drummer looks like Harry Potter, but all in all it was a very cool night.

Well, my first concert of 2005 was quite an experience. I was feeling a little icky cause I'm bit bitten by the flu-bug this week AND they were more than half an hour late so I was quite annoyed when Dresden Dolls took to the stage. This wasn't helped by the fact that the first minutes of the concert the music made me physically sick. Really, I've been to rock festivals, rock concerts, etc but this was the LOUDEST concert I've ever been to!! As my stomach was already a bit upset (I won't go in details here ) the vibrations of the drums and Amanda's voice actually made my internal organs vibrate, literally!! The guy (I forget his name at the moment) beat his drums in a way that was deafening but Amanda's voice was right up there...it is unbelievable: like a hurricane. I don't know how to describe it...she likes to sing from the stomach for the long, low notes but she can hit the high notes as well and sounds quite ethereal too. Simply amazing. Of course, after a while I got used to the decibels and really enjoyed the concert. It was a "cabaret" in the sense that they both like to "act" while playing (pulling faces, all kinds of expressions, waves, etc) and Amanda has trouble keeping the keyboard in place while she plays because she puts her feet & legs in all kinds of unnatural positions. He's a bit quiet but Amanda addressed the crowd frequently and they both seem like extremely sweet people. She said the usual stuff about the audience being great, the room so wonderful and Bush sucking but she also said they would hang out by the bar of the room later on to hang out with us and sign CD's and stuff! This was by far the cheapest concert I've been to in a long time (if not ever)!! It was only 12 EUR for a concert that lasted pretty much 2 hours (with at least 2 encores of 3 songs each..sadly I had to leave early to catch my last train). Highlights of the evening were "Half Jack", "Ring of Roses" and an absolutely AMAZING cover version of "Rid Of Me" which blew me away but which was even surpassed during the encores with an even more fantastisc cover of "Dans le Port d'Amsterdam" by Jacques Brel which Amanda sung in perfect French. There was an intermezzo of a few songs in the middle of the concert where Amanda left her keyboard and just sang and where the guy played the guitar (Rid Of Me was one of these songs). Honestly, you cannot let the possibility to see these guys play live go by!! Their tour diary has also been updated http://www.dresdendolls.com/diary/

There's a cool set of concerts coming up in the hall where the Dresden Dolls performed I found out! 23/04 there's an evening with Marike Jager, Martha Wainwright, A girl called Eddy, Mia Doi Todd and Kathleen Edwards...quite an amazing line up for only 18 EUR!

OK....so I got hit by a car retunring from work thursday night walking from the bus stop to home. I don't have any recollection of the event. I've got bruises all over my body, a concossion and 2 deep cuts in my cranium, one 12 cm long, the other 10 cm and apparently my brain was exposed and I was hysterical, fully conscious and gushing blood they managed to stitch me up pretty quickly and I've got 20 stitches in the back of my head (removing them won't be painless I think). Anyway, when I woke up i hospital I couldn't remember a thing. They did an EEG and by some miracle I have no brain damage (yet????) apparently. Because of a strike in the medical sector they already released me yesterday and I was feeling relatively OK. Obviously this means I completely missed my appointment with Matt to show him around Antwerp Friday. I had the state of mind to call his youth hostel friday nigt but I don't know if I made much sense. Today however I feel all my bruises & cuts & feel, well..Like I've been hit by a truck (a jeep actually). I've got a week of bedrest and the problem is I can't sit/stand up straight for more than 10 min without getting huge headache and dizzy spells. Typing this is exhausting me so I'd better stop. But Im OK really. The really terribl hing id i cant wash my hair until monday because of the stitches eww. bye

well...it has been another looooong while since my last post :-)

I went to Sevilla & Malaga for about 1 week and it was great: even though it was mid-October it was 27 to 28 degrees Celcius and plenty to see in Sevilla (though sadly the old site of the Expo'92 was quite deteriorated)

The Groove Armada Concert was pretty cool as well..but there was only 1 male & 1 female singer and a lot of non-vocal tracks in between that didn't really do much for me

Since my last post I bought a number of Albums:

Blonde Redhead - Misery is a Butterfly
Rachel Goswell - Waves are Universal
The Dresden Dolls - The Dresden Dolls
Green Day - American Idiot
Feist - Let it Die
Munk - Aperitivo
Martha Wainwright - Bloody Motherfucking Asshole
Lenny Kraviyz - Baptism
The Libertines - The Libertines
Katell Keineg - High July
KD Lang - Hymns of the 49th parallel
The Faint - Wet from Birth
MilOW - One Of It
Interpol - Antics
Lhasa De Sela - The Living Road

Allthough I am (and stay) a MASSIVE Katell Keineg fan, I'm kinda disappointed with High July. That's probably because I already knew 4 of the ten songs (and those 4 are the best on the album IMHO) and because "What's the only thing worse than the end of time" created such high expectations!

I'm totally in love though with Lhasa and still play the Holly Palmer album a lot!

I haven't been posting much because it looks like it's finished between me & Xavier..so it's a difficult time

But thankfully 2004 is turning out to be a great year musically...I've recently discovered Lhasa : a Mexican/Canadian singer songwriter who could be described as Katell Keineg meets Yann Tierssen (soundtrack to Le Fabuleux Destin d'Amélie Poulain) . She really is more folk than anything else but I haven't been this excited about a new discovery since Interpol!! She writes in French, Spanish & English. Her album "The Living Road" is simply amazing!!!!! check out www.lhasadesela.ca

My concert agenda for the next couple of weeks:

06/10 Groove Armada
08/11 Sarah McLachlan
11/11 K D Lang
16/11 Ash
23/11 Lhasa
28/11 Keane
13/12 Interpol

I had a fabulous time at Copenhagen over the weekend for 4 days. I always love discovering a city on my own, especially when I can communicate easily with the local people and though I don't speak Danish everybody there speaks English very well :-) I really was lucky with the weather, it was gorgeous and that helped a lot since a lot of stuuf that you have to go see in Copenhagen is out-of-doors or just wandering around the town, port, beach...so to show off here are some pics

Copenhagen underwater statue of the mermen

Copenhagen - Rodin's The thinker

Copenhagen Panoramic view

Copenhagen: old & new architecture side by side

Copenhagen Lutherian church

Copenhagen - One of the canals

Otherwise in my life:

still haven't found an appartement though right before I left for Copenhagen I visited a nice one and said I was interested buth the proprietor hasn't called back yet :-(

Work is going finally going good...I'm really getting along great with the new colleagues now..we have a ball...However...the company seems to be in financial trouble and is selling several local affiliates and it's still not sure how Belgium will be impacted

I'm absolutely LOVING the Holly Palmer album "I confess" (every single song on it, but perhaps with a preference for "You help me") and Mylo's "Destroy Rock & Roll" : it's the freshest dance I've heard in years and Modest Mouse

If I find the courage I'm breaking up with Xavier on sunday..but I'm really dreading it and don't know yet how I'm gonna do it...it's really weighing on me :-(

mmmm

What has happened since my last post? Not a lot really...

...I finally found an appartment I was willing to buy in ANtwerp..took an architect to visit it and get her professional estimation but it was way below the asking price and the owners didn't want to let it go for that price :-( I swear I don't know how people still find apartments/houses in a decent neighbourhood Antwerp these days without being millionnaires!!

I bought tickets for KD Lang in Brussels, but that's only in November...I was hoping to be able to go to pukkelpop, a real cool festival but no one of my friends seems to be able to go through holiday, too much work, exams or just no interested and I'm pissed...it's been too long since I went out shaking as well....so I'm going out without Xavier who no longer has an appartment in Brussels so we don't get to see each other very much anymore....i have to say I'm not missing him that much...am thinking about breaking it up but he's working on his thesis and has got his birthday next week so i'll give it another weeks

I am excited about the Tennis Olympics and how Justine & Venus & Xavier-Olivier will perform!!

I did buy a lot of CDs recently...recently I've been playing "apart" by "Late Tuesday" a lot and I've ordered the CD at CD Baby....also bought the new Beth Hart (not impressed by it at all yet), "A Girl Called Eddy" which is really good (a cross between Suzanne Vega and Tanita Tikarim..a lot of tanita there), Gus Gus "Attention" (so for only so so), some Spanish folk Arianna Savall "Bella Terra" and some CDs i've bought today and haven't listend to yet: Modest Mouse, Lenny Kravitz, Felix Da Housecat, Mylo and another one I can't remember at the moment :-)

Am even more excited that both Holly Palmer AND Katell Keineg are finally releasing their CDs "I confess" and "High July"...such a coincidence...both at the same time...2 of my fave singer songwriters ever

Am spinning the idea to go to Kopenhagen in a few weeks around in my mind..it'd be without Xavier (in his last days as student he still has no budget to do anything like that) but I love discovering a city on my own

I'm feeling kinda settled in the new job as well...people are knowing I am there and the projects are piling up...I am a person who needs a certain level of stress to perform at my top but everybody at work keeps telling me to calm down...these peopke are soooo relaxed it's amazing...at my last job (telecom incumbent) if you missed a deadline by even 1 day the department manager would be at your desk practicially jelling & threatening..here they say "oh well...I suppose we can launch this new antivirus service or summer promo next month as well..whatever" :-) Bonding with the colleagues is still not really happening as I am still kinda isolated at my own desk and because almost all of them have been or are on holiday for a couple of weeks so haven't gotten to know them yet that well.

oh yeah..the reason why I haven't posted in a while was of course because my PC got infected (twice) and I had to reboot (twice) and also had trouble switching ISPs..but i think everything is OK now

tomorrow is mother's day here in Belgium...we bought her a cellphone, some perfume and Belgian chocolates (of course)...I bought an icon in Rhodes specifically for this occassion but I'm gonna keep it for myself for when I finally get that apartment :-)

OK...another update about stuff I didn't mention in June:

after Rhodes I started my new job, went to Wimbledon for 2 days, went to a music festival and 2 weeks ago I saw Suzanne Vega live.

The Suzanne Vega concert was in a parc in Antwerp and was in open air. I saw Ani Difranco there last year (or 2 years ago) and that was a really great concert, sadly this being Belgium it was absolutely pouring down in the middle of summer :-( So there we were with our embrellas shuffling against each other and our backs getting soaking wet trying to listen to Suzanne Vega. I must say I wasn't really impressed. She has a fine voice live bur she really has no stage presence I thought and there wasn't much on-stage banter going on. I feel she could've made a bit more effort to amuse the crowd sitting in the rain while she was performing on a covered stage. The guy who was her support act was doing his very first gig ever and he seemed more confortable on stage than her!

The music festival was Rock Werchter, and obviously it rained there a bit as well, but not as much...that was a fun day with a group of 5 mates. Highlights were Franz Ferdinand and Moloko!! Roisin is now a redhead and absolutely gorgeous and she knows how to put on a show...wow..she wore a tight orange/red fluor cat suit with mini skirt and high black leather boots and was a complete tease & flirt the whole concert through which was quite amusing...I'll definitely pay good money to see them live again! Her voice is excellent live as well!! FF just had the marquee jumping up & down practically the whole gig through..excellent on-stage energy.

I had an ABSOLUTE FABULOUS TIME at Wimbledon: we initially only planned to go see some tennis Monday and to go to a musical Sunday but for once in my life the Gods smiled at me and of course we went to People's Sunday which was a ball..even the queueing was nice seeing as they put us in rows in a park nearby and the sun was shining and I had my CD-man and we were so excited about our first Wimbledon!! We had Court1 tickets sunday and outer court tickets Monday. Highlight was the doubles sunday of Malisse&Rochus (which unfortunately had to be stopped because of rain and never resumed because of Xavier's back problems)..it was a fab match and much more fun being on one of the small courts than on the big show courts. We were there with Belgian girls supporting them and the players are so close to the public on those small courts..it was great! And really...I'm not into blonde but I could just eat little Olivier up ;-) I saw all kinds of celebs: Andy Roddick, Taylor Dent, Amelie, Conchita, Mary & Tatiana (the biggest bust and the smallest skirt on the site), Martina & Lisa, Sharapova practising, Lindsay practicing (my...she's really extremely thin in real life), Suarez, Ai, Farina Elia, Ancic, etc, etc. The funniest thing is all these female players are so short in real life and there's simply not a gram of fat on Martina's body...amazing!!! The queueing Monday (from 05:30 to 10:30) was less fun but it was an experience and we got the stickers to prove it! Amazingly, 20 minutes after pulling out of his 4th round we saw Xavier walking freely on the grounds not recognized by anybody apparently and we followed him as he went to the bank to get some cash and we asked him to autograph the tennisballs we bought (so embarrassing, but fun as well) and he was really nice and very disappointed about his back problems. We also got Els Callens to sign a ball after her mixed doubles but surprisingly she wasn't so friendly. All in all a great experience, and a recommendation for anybody going later: don't spend obscene amounts of money on show courts tickets because I know I won't...the smaller courts are too fabulous and I'd rather see an enjoyable tight match between Tamarine Tanasugarn and Ai Sugiyama on a small court than seeing Serena beat A. Kapros 6-0,6-2 on a show court!!

The first few weeks of the new job have been so weird..so different from my last job..things are much more hectic/chaotic & relaxed (no stress/pressure) at the same time. I still have to "bond" with my colleagues but I'm always slow in that department..but in general they're nice & interesting...a lot of "alternative" types so it should be fun!

And finally: my fave albums of 2004 so far:

1. Melissa Auf Der Maur - MADM
2. Franz Ferdinand - FF
3. Keane - Hopes & Fear (likely to rise by the end of the year)
4. Phoenix - Alphabetical
5. Zornik - one armed bandit
6. Cara Dillon - Sweet Liberty
7. PJ Harvey - Uh huh her
8. Dover - The Flame
9. Nikola Cercevic - lock sport krock
10 Kate Rusby - Underneath the Stars

fall too fast

...so much has happened lately and of course I've been neglecting this LJ again. I don't know how I'm gonna cram it all in one or a few posts.

I've been thinking about personalizing this journal to get some more response, like using a photo of myself in the avatar (or whatever you call that picturethingy next to your username) in stead of that pic of the lovely Katell Keineg. In any case these are already pics of my holiday in Rhodes (Greece).

Rhodes Acropolis

Lindos

Symi

Symi 2

Chalki

Rodos was absolutely beautiful as you can see. We did lots of excursions to Lindos and other Greek islands nearby like Symi and Chalki. Our hotel was located closeby the Ancient town of Rhodes (not the modern town) right across the university which was excellent! We headed into the ancient town most evenings to eat out or have a drink. The weather was fab but we only went to the beach once, on my birthday to have 1 day of complete R&R...but I couldn't do that all week long!

I had an awful realization a few days back...."The Capuccino Songs" by Tanita Tikaram is one of my fave albums..Like..ever...does that make me middle-aged??? Perhaps just gay :-) Though I feel I should mention I just bought the Mars Volta album!

Still loads more info to post, but it's already 3 am here..so I'm calling it a night. One last thing: I'm gonna past my best 10 albums of 2004 so far and as an appetizer these were my lists of 2003 that I posted somewhere else

Yay...I got a new job...signed the contract and I start work the 21st. It's kinda what I've been doing all my professional career so far (marketing for an Internet Service Provider) but this time it's a market challenger and not leader so that should be...well..challenging :)

Before starting work I'll be off on an island, more specifically Rhodes and I can't wait to enjoy the sunshine, culture, sights and do some island-hopping excursions. This means I'll be celebrating my birthday for the very first time abroad on holiday. But Xavier is with me of course so we'll find away to party. He's doing all right with his exams and his last one is coming up tomorrow.

Musically I'm really into Keane and the Cardigans (Long gone before daylight) at the moment. I bought "Uh huh her" and "Welcome to sunny Florida" but they still have to grow on me. Aren't the first few notes of "Seaside" just like the first few notes of "Icicle"???

Urgh...the tennis was horrible the last couple of days at Roland Garros, hopefully it'll be better when I'm at Wimbledon. Typically, the one time I (ever) go to Wimbledon: both Kim & Justine pull out and Monica isn't even entered. Thank God Patty has decided to ask for a wildcard. Anyway, at least the Belgians did win 1 trophy with the men's doubles (the doubles at RG was sooo much more interesting this year than the singles)

My nephew/godson had his first birthday today and it was a fab little party :-) It was up to 33 degrees in Belgium today, even hotter than Greece!!! He's a real cute little fellar with the energy of a nuclear power plant and the attention span of a fly but he's advancing really well. He's still crawling but can stand up straight and he can already say stuff like mommy, daddy, hello, etc (in Dutch of course :-) ...god...one year already...Time flies...what a cliche..but how true

still looking for a apartment in Antwerp to rent or buy...But it's hell out there..nothing decent to rent below 1.000 Euro's per month and 190.000 Euro's to buy..Well when I say decent...everyone else says my expectations and demands are way too high..But hey...I like to live comfortably okay: a terrace, separate toilet, 2 bedrooms, separate modern kitchen, good location and at least 100 square metres, parket boards, etc aren't too much to ask now are they?

For all the Partisans out there

IRISH ANTI WAR EVENT SUPPORTED BY KATELL KEINEG

Ole Conquistador

Ole, conquistador
Marching on to the South Pole
With your ice-pick brandished
Ole, mister the savage

You with your plastic head
Advancing in the rain
In the glitter of these golden lights
I could never be that strange

Ole, Jose the Hun
He's got to know that he's the one
He's got to know that he's the king
O come on, come on, won't you let him in

You with your wily bait
Your intangible terrain
For a moment I was almost swung
Man, you really know your game

Ole

So you got yourself assigned as leader
Your job to bark and move us on
You're a father's son my dear
Perpetuating patriachal order
Perpetuating your control
Over the harem of your sheep fold
Perpetuating your desire
To rob all others of their fire
When you've got plenty of your own
Better keep on, keep on, keeping on
Conquering all
The bottom of the sea
The tigers and the trees
Indigenous innocent man
Every last inc of virgen land

Mi verso es de un verdo claro
Y de un carmin encendido
Mi verso es de un cierro herrido
Que busca en el monte amparo
Con los pobres de la tierra
Quiero mi suerte echar
El arroyo de la sierra
Me complace mas que el mar

by Katell Keineg from the album "Jet", last verse from "Guantanamera" by Jose Marti adapted by Julian Orbon

OK...it's a saturday night and I'm updating my LiveJournal (while listening to the Eurovision Song Festival in the background)...how sad am I??? Well, actually my BF is having exams so i'm just showing support by limiting my social life a bit while he's swatting away. But I've already got a group of friends lined up to go to a new "in" party in Antwerp los ninos 28/05 which should be cool!

Like I said, I went to a worldmusic concert tuesday: Susheela Raman, Amparanoia, Rokia Traore. And it was a verly lively concert with an amazing participating public..it was like being at a festival: people jumping, dancing & clapping their hands (Belgians are usually quite calm, introverted and a bit submissive in general)...Susheela was the reason why we came and she didn't dissappoint..she really got the crowd going and dancing and she's a very generous artist. She stepped out of the spotlight numerous times to let other artists perform solo's, take the lead vocals, etc (even for entire songs) and she looked fab as well. So that was a very good night. So good that we're thinking of attending a World Music festival in Belgium Dour with Detroit Grand Peubahs, Agoria, Pendulum, zeke, keb dharge, Ladytron, 16 horsepower, oi va voi, shannon wright and many many more. The next few months are looking a bit quieter in terms of concerts: we're going to Rock Werchter to see Black Eyed Peas, Moloko, Muse, Lenny Kravitz , Franz Ferdinand, etc. I actually really wanted to go Sunday to see PJ Harvey...but missed out as those tickets were already sold out :-( and nothing else is planned at the moment.

But I did some research and normally Suzanne Vega will be coming to Antwerp 08/07 and Sarah McLachlan will also be coming to Antwerp but only 08/11...but that are 2 concerts I'm definitely going to!!

I ordered a truckload of CDs through the french amazon site: the new album from Dover "The Flame", the single "Just So You know/Mannequins" by Holly Palmer, Bic Runga's "Drive", "Love in the time of science" by Emiliana Torrini, "Passenger" from Tara Maclean, Chantal Kreviazuk's "What if it all means something" and finally "Underneath the stars" from Kate Rusby".

As you may have gathered from this post....I'm really into music :-)

But I'm also a huge tennis fan...I was hoping to get tickets for Roland Garros...but the places we wanted were sold-out (despite ordering them weeks in advance). SO now I'm going with my best friend (Tom) to Wimbledon for the ladies fourth round. We'll be going with the Eurostar and we'll be queueing for show courts from 5 am or something!

euhm....also some news on the jobfront but I don't want to get too excited...I've got a second interview at Tiscali this Monday and am quite nervous for that.

Well...I'll guess the rest of my evening I'll be watching the Eurovision Song Festival (hoping either Belgium or Albania wins :-) ) and take a long, hot bath afterwards with a good glass of wine and some Tori (I know...how queer can you get??)

OK...so this is my very first Real Post....mmm...where's my muse when I need her :-) Perhaps I'll tell you how I first encountered LiveJournal? I am a HUGE Katell Keineg fan (she's the one in my icon) and sadly there are about 2 sites on this fabulours singer/songwriter in the world. One is katellkeineg.com (which pretty much sucks because it's so out of date) and the other is THE ONLINE KATELL REFERENCE SITE :Katell Keineg Community set up by the great Challenger. You get pretty lonely as a Katell Keineg fan in Belgium so after I while I started mailing with thechallenger and when also Holly Palmer (another fab singer/songwriter) got her own LiveJournal here, I thought it was about time I started my own!! Et voilà...now you know.

So what have I been up to lately. About 2 months ago I found myself out of a job so I'm currently on the look-out and having a couple of job interviews but nothing to get very excited about at this stage.

I try to go concerts quite often and yesterday I saw Phoenix in la Botanique in Brussels which was relatively good...they started out quite funky with Too Young, Everything Is Everything and Run,Run,Run but got slower as the time passed and the weather wasn't really great for the location. My last concert before that one was Melissa Auf Der Maur (Ancienne Belgique) which was quite good but way too short. And my next concert will be Susheela Raman this tuesday also in Brussels (Cirque Royale).

I won't be a prolific poster and I'll never write very long posts I'm afraid but I hope to meet some like-minded cool people from all over the world here to join my existing Net Buddies. And with that I'll leave you for the moment. Catch ya soon!!

This is my very first Journal entry since requesting a journal more than 4 months ago....So I guess you could say I'm a bit slow :-) I'm using the Semagic client here so this is just a test to see how it all works. I'll post more soon.
